Think you know London? Then test your knowledge in a team quiz, says Sarah Riches
The tourist body London & Partners has teamed up with the Mayor’s Office and the City of London to create an online quiz for fans of London.
The Ultimate Londoner Quiz will be streamed live on YouTube at 7pm GMT (6 Sep).
The host
The comedian Dane Baptiste will host the quiz, which will celebrate the city’s past, creativity and institutions.
Expect questions covering everything from the Great Fire of London to the capital’s bizarre museum exhibits and kebab shops.
Dane says, ‘London has the best clubs, food, museums and people, but who is the Ultimate Londoner? I challenge anyone who thinks they can win what will be the best and friendliest postcode war ever!’
How to take part
Anyone can take part if you sign up in advance.
While the quiz is free, donations to the Mayor of London’s Pay it Forward campaign are encouraged. The funds will help local businesses recover from the impact of Covid-19.
The prizes
The top prize is a night’s stay for two with breakfast and afternoon tea at the five-star hotel The Ned.
Perhaps more importantly, the winner will also win an official certificate acknowledging them as The Ultimate Londoner.
There will be prizes for the runners up, too.
