Celebrate Halloween on a pumpkin hunt at Sherlock: The Game is Now
The escape room experience Sherlock: The Game is Now brings a whole new meaning to lockdown.
Getting locked in a room – and paying for the privilege – may seem counterintuitive when London is in lockdown. However, the experience is a lot more fun once you turn your escape into a race against the clock to find pumpkins in time for Halloween (26 Oct-1 Nov).
What is an escape room?
Escape rooms are designed for small groups. The group must solve puzzles in a limited time to escape the room in which they’re locked. Therefore, Sherlock: The Game is Now is ideal for households of six or fewer people.
One of London’s most ambitious escape rooms is Sherlock: The Game is Now in Shepherd’s Bush. The experience is inside West 12 Shopping Centre.
Each game takes 100 minutes.
The entrance is disguised as an opticians. However, there are a series of connected rooms inside that are inspired by Sir Arthur Doyle’s 1880s novels about the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes.
Even if you’re not familiar with the story, you can still enjoy the experience.
What to expect
Actors guide you into Sherlock’s living room and recruit you as crime-fighting operatives.
With the help of video and audio clues, your group will work together to find hidden buttons and keys, solve cryptic notes and unlock a cage.
In honour of Halloween, the venue has created a pumpkin hunt. The hunt is ideal for children over 10 and adults.
Race against the clock to solve mysteries and find three hidden pumpkins.
If you find all three, you’ll be rewarded with a mystery code and win a sweet treat.
In addition to the sweet, you will be entered into a raffle to be in with a chance of winning a family ticket to an outdoor version of the game, which is coming soon.
