I am the Head Concierge of The St James Court Hotel, a Taj property and have been with this property for 9 years now.
What precautionary measures is your business taking to guard the safety and welfare of visitors?
All guest contact areas will have perspex screens, all staff will be wearing disposable gloves and masks at all times, temperature checks for every guest coming into the hotel, guests will be encouraged to wear gloves, all public areas are being disinfected every 45 minutes, guest luggage is also disinfected and luggage will be delivered outside the doors rather than in the room. These are some of the steps we are taking to ensure the safety of the staff and our guests.
Can we expect anything different or innovative to enhance the customer experience?
Most of our interaction with guests will be online and through WhatsApp. We will be customising itineraries for guests and everything will be on their phones or laptops. QR codes will be displayed to point guests towards various offerings from our restaurant menus, to where you can purchase tickets for tours and attractions. These are innovative steps we are taking to minimise any physical contact.
Can you tell us one lesson that you have learnt during the shutdown?
Enjoy every moment of this life! We have to look at the positives that this pandemic has bestowed open us, namely a better environment, cleaner air, a realisation that we all should enjoy life and be in touch with nature
