Tell us about yourself and your business
The tour of Chelsea FC has been in operation for 21 years. Since 1999, millions of visitors from all over the world have been toured behind-the-scenes of Stamford Bridge by one of our fantastic, knowledgeable tour guides. The Chelsea FC Stadium Tour prides itself on being a fully guided experience that can be tailored to the guests on the tour. The Chelsea FC Museum first opened in 2005 and, after relocation to a larger site in 2011, has been the perfect accompaniment to the stadium tour boasting various exhibits, interactive pods and the most complete trophy cabinet of any club in London.
What precautionary measures is your business taking to protect visitors?
All staff and visitors above the age of 11 must wear a face covering when in the museum and stadium. Visitors must also book the tour in advance. There are several hand sanitiser stations in and around the tour and museum experience and tour groups will depart with a maximum of 15 visitors to ensure sufficient social distancing.
Can we expect anything different or innovative to enhance the customer experience?
The museum has three fantastic new exhibits to enjoy including every home shirt for the last 50 years, a Frank Lampard exhibit containing signed boots worn in matches, shirts worn by John Terry and captain’s armbands from the title winning 2004-2005 season. The museum also boasts our magnificent trophy cabinet, medal collection, shirts, pennants, a cinema and hundreds of artefacts including the original document that started the club in 1905.
What lesson did you learn during lockdown?
Keep communicating with our customers. We were very lucky to have so many visitors defer their booking until after lockdown and we kept in constant communication with them so that, now we have reopened, they have the first pick of tour dates.
