Tell us a little about yourself and your business
My name is Giovanni Spezziga and I am General Manager at Dalloway Terrace, part of The Bloomsbury hotel. Dalloway Terrace is a beautiful indoor / outdoor restaurant – just moments away from Tottenham Court Road – in London’s literary heartland of Bloomsbury. It is named after the eponymous character penned by Virginia Woolf, who was part of the Bloomsbury Set who lived and partied in the area in the early 20th century. The al fresco space has been named one of London’s ‘most Instagrammable’ restaurants, thanks to its elegant quintessentially English feel and famous seasonal floral installations.
What precautionary measures is your business taking to guard the safety and welfare of visitors?
In order to ensure visitors will feel safe and comfortable, we have implemented new health & safety protocols to ensure guests can dine with confidence. These new measures include:
Social distancing with a minimum of1 metre between tables and clear signage guiding guests
Availability of menus on personal devices via a QR code
Availability of alcohol-based hand sanitisers and the thorough sanitisation of tables and tableware before every sitting
Can we expect anything different or innovative to enhance the customer experience?
Dalloway will open with a refined menu of all day classic and favourites, initially with reduced hours and social distanced dining. We hope the set up won’t be noticeably different and our staff have been trained to ensure the Dalloway experience will remain the same on the whole.
Can you tell us one lesson that you have learnt during the shutdown?
We have learnt the importance of being adaptable. Our team have been amazing in preparing for reopening in a new way and we can’t wait to offer our renowned warm hospitality again after months of being closed.
